Evergreen Christian School is a nonprofit, interdenominational school governed by a parent society. Established 1990, we are located at a beautiful 13-acre wooded site in Bellingham. We serve families in the greater Whatcom County area with classes from pre-kindergarten (starting in fall of 2005) through eighth grade. We promote excellence in academic, social and spiritual education.

At Evergreen, our children develop positive, healthy spirits, minds, and bodies, and get along well with their teachers and fellow students. Academic and spiritual growth are balanced with physical and social development.

Our parents work together in a spirit of harmony for the wellbeing of their children. Our teachers work closely with our parents, and show a sincere caring for their students. To give children the attention they need and deserve, we strive to keep our elementary class sizes to 18 students or less. Most new families come to our school because they have heard about it from other parents who are happy with the way their children developed while at Evergreen.

Results of the 2003-04 WASL (Washington State Assessment of Student Learning) test show 100 percent of Evergreen Christian?s seventh-grade students met the state standard for reading and writing, while 80 percent achieved the state standard in mathematics. Among all seventh-grade students statewide taking the WASL test, only 58 percent met the writing standard, 60 percent the reading standard and 46 percent the math standard.

We welcome the opportunity to work with homeschool families. Our middle school offers a block schedule, which allows part-time students to choose classes they would like to take. We are also able to accommodate elementary homeschool students on a half-day basis (either morning or afternoon).
