Yorkston Oil Co. is a locally owned and operated company. It began as Hardwood Fuel Company in 1938, selling mill ends to homeowners for fuel to heat their homes. Then as time evolved, furnace oil was the popular form of heat. That is when the company became a Signal Oil distributor, and Yorkston Oil Co. Signal was bought out by Enco, and Enco then changed their name to Exxon. Now in 2001, ExxonMobil Corp. Today, Yorkston Oil Co., Inc. is a independently owned and operated distributor of ExxonMobil products. |
